Until 1995, schools in remote areas outside the panchayat were the only source of secondary education for students in the Mokeri Grama Panchayat. It was in this context that the Vallyai Education Charitable Society was formed to focus on educational activities in the panchayat. The Rajiv Gandhi Memorial High School was established in 1995 as the first activity in this project. Starting with 52 students in its first year, the institute has grown to a community of over 3900 students and 89 teachers by focusing on the all-round progress of the students, organizing the curricular activities and advancing through the activities of molding the civic conscious community as a social institution. In a short span of time, the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School has become a well-known institution not only in the panchayat but also in the district and the state. The school was established with the primary objective of providing admission to all the secondary students in the panchayat and today it is a center of hope for students in about six panchayats and the surrounding municipality. The main feature of the institution is that it welcomes all students without any conditions of admission.
The first step is to find out the level of learning and creative abilities of all students entering the eighth grade. For this, essay competitions, seminar presentations and projects are conducted. Literary festivals are used to discover creative talents. For this, 4 hours to 4:45 is used every day. The Peer Group conducts teaching to help those who are lagging behind in their studies. QUEENS LANGUAGE provides an opportunity for literary linguists to engage in literary discussions, discussions and engagement with celebrities.
The ‘Know Mathematics’ activity during the holidays for the backward classes in mathematics strengthens the basics of mathematics. The ‘GENIE MATHS’ implemented by the Mathematics Club this year is notable for extending beyond textbook activities to eighth to tenth grade in a way that can stimulate mathematical thinking. It is a matter of pride that the S.S.L.C result, which started with 100 per cent success, has been maintained at not less than 95% in all subsequent years and has reached 100 per cent three times during this period. The school has been recognized in the rural areas as having the highest number of students in the state and 100 per cent pass rate. When the results of the last year (2013-14) examination were released, we were honored as the second highest A + school in the state. The fact that 107 students scored A + in all subjects and 52% of students scored A / A + is a direct testament to the quality of education. The basis for these brilliant successes is the systematic and systematic work that the school undertakes and implements. We always pay attention to planning the curriculum according to the different levels of learning. Classes are organized with the participation of experts on the attitudes that children should take towards exams. According to the specially prepared TIME TABLE, Morning Classes and EVENING CLASS are conducted from 9 am to 9:40 pm. From January onwards, children will be able to stay in school and engage in learning activities by identifying those who are lagging behind in learning. By providing opportunities for self – study and group learning, children will be able to face public exams with confidence by preparing to think critically and respond.
Certificates of this are the brilliant success in the S.SL.C exams. Conducts awareness classes on conducting precautionary measures against diseases such as chicken pox, dengue fever and leptospirosis which were prevalent in the Malabar region where various activities are being carried out to nurture a socially conscious student community. The children have taken care of themselves. With the help of the panchayat, anti-plastic message and paper bags were distributed with the help of Kudumbasree members and housewives. The mass rallies, bicycle rallies and the Gandhi Samriti Yatra, the pigeon-building of peace, have created a significant movement in the society to achieve peace and tranquility in our areas where political tensions are frequent. In order to inculcate in the children the attitude of seeing the disabled and the marginalized as part of the general society, the Value Club visited the old age homes and distributed food. It is also noteworthy that an alumnus of the school was given Rs. 75000 for kidney treatment. We have been able to win the admiration of the media for such activities. Teachers and students of the school were full-time workers at the recent Comprehensive Cancer Prevention Program in Mokeri Panchayath. The school clubs are very helpful in coordinating the curriculum activities. The Mathematics and Science Clubs have been able to carry out remarkable activities at the district and state levels. GENIE MATHS, the club’s best contribution, is held every week. “A QUESTION A WEEK” instills in children a love of mathematics.To nurture children’s artistic and literary tastes CJ Kuttappan, Chairman, Folklore Academy, inaugurated the folk song workshop organized by Vidyarangam Kala Sahitya Vedi and interacted with the children. The Student Police, the Junior Red Cross, the Scouts & Guides and the Health Club organize various activities. The school, which has always been committed to safeguarding public education, is now on the path of progress with the co – operation of all sections of the people. We are confident that we can go much further. The school has been the champion of arts and sports in the sub-district for many years. Many students have participated in district and state competitions in science fairs. The documentary ‘Kalpadukal Thedi’ prepared by the Malayalam section has been selected for broadcast on Victors Channel. After many years of waiting, raising the school to a higher secondary is another step in our growth

ഒരു വിദ്യാലയം ഈ നാട്ടുകാർക്ക് വിദൂര സ്വപ്നമായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ഇന്ന് സമൂഹത്തിലെ വിവിധ മേഖലകളിലേക്ക് ഇവിടെ നിന്ന് പ്രതിഭാധനരായ ഏറെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ പുറത്തുവന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. പുറമ്പോക്ക് ഭൂമിയുടെ ഊഷരതയിൽ നിന്നും വളർന്ന് ഒരു വലിയ പടുവൃക്ഷമായി ഒരു നാടിന്റെ സമഗ്ര വികസനത്തിന് താങ്ങായ ചോലമരമായി രാജീവ് ഗാന്ധി ഹയർ സെക്കന്ററി സ്കൂൾ മാറി കഴിഞ്ഞു.
